Diamond Heist of Tram & Myers

Image
Finding an abandoned Andromeda at Tram & Myers full of diamond the boys and I made a surprising discovery. Cargo. The life blood of the Stanton system, delivering the necessary resources to fuel ships, repair stations and to turn the giants cogs of economy. Cargo hauling as been the life blood of the commerce department were thanks to the hard work of many a brave crew man and woman, we have generated millions of credits and established not just a company but a way of life. Tram & Myers, Cellin, Stanton. After spending countless hours hauling freight from Tram & Myers to Port Olisar it's fitting that a new discovery would be found on our home turf. Watch the highlight from the Live-Stream here.  Today we discovered and confirmed that cargo can be stolen from cargo vessels. After the constellation blew up, flying close we noticed the cargo boxes rendered into the frame. If a cargo ship can drop cargo, it can be loaded up, taken, and sold for a profit. We'l

Testing the Mantis, Snared a Cat

Image
With the introduction to the Mantis in game, it's quite the formidable opponent if used correctly. Today we look at just how quickly it can take out a caterpillar and we were surpirsed to see it fit insdie the 890 Jump. We had to test the new quantum interdiction mechanics, for science! Only a few innocent ships were hurt in the making of this video. If you can't see the video above, here is the link .  https://youtu.be/3huGXaqWME0 Screenshot by Rich_Banks aboard his Vanguard Harbinger with the kill shot.   Flying with my Co-Pilots, my one and two year old sons sitting on my lap, my fearless cargo team and I wrangled us up a shiny caterpillar.  She didn't stay that way for long. My apologies for the shoddy flying, but only the best pilots can do this while holding two babies. This is some quality family time. A shout-out goes to Rich and Dio, Ace Pilots. Oh this video is dedicated to my good friend Scarlet, this is how you take out a Drake Caterpillar wi

3.7.1 Incoming Freefly Event

Image
With the Free Fly event on the horizon we’re planning on switching gears to give some new players a tour of the verse in style on board the 890 Jump! Today we had fun racing each other to on the cargo routes, Arial to Lorville. Selwyn_Lindquist pulled off a new time of 22:40 for the run time. I admit we started the timer after leaving the hangar, so we can't count this as an official time but we're approaching the 20 minute run times between Arial and Hurston, which is impressive. Imagine earning 300,000 credits every 20 minutes per cat?! This beat out SQ's time of 35:00 minutes, but we'll have to standardize our timing process, likely starting and stopping the watch at the trade console after selling.  Our Profits for the day: With the Free-fly event incoming, I’m asking everyone to get ready for a mass entry of new players to the verse! That might mean helping out players, giving them tours or making sure they understand this is a cut-throat galaxy

3.7.1 New Reset Patch is Live

Image
Star Citizen Alpha 3.7.1 LIVE.3367344 went live today shortly after 10:00 AM Pacific time. With a surprise wipe resetting progress our cargo department scrambled to rally cargo haulers and escorts. Earlier this morning we pooled together our credits earned from the last patch to purchase a few ships in game and put them to use finding bounties. Will we be able to climb the profit ladder again this patch and build our commerce fleet? During our early morning trade run we finished the patch strong, pooling enough funds to buy a second freelancer max in game. In the last minute, we decided to purchase two ships instead, a Sabre and a Freelancer MIS, so that we could focus some time on the game play of pursuing bounties. I successfully was able to test the bed log out and in feature, spawning in my Warden just outside of HUR L1. Spawning near a rest stop might provide a great location to start for hauling cargo as compared to Lorville. Unfortunately, I ran into a caterpillar wreck in

Always Fly with Crew

Image
Teaming up with the classic crew, we had a memorable cargo convoy. A few kilometer's out from landing the Starfarer and Caterpillar at Lorville we looked forward to the profits to be had as we imagined the gold statues of the Central Business District. Headed in for the last run of the day what could possible go wrong. Today seemed to be a day for bugs, Running into a few of the 16700 error I found myself having a difficult time finishing up some cargo runs for the day. Selwyn started out with not being able to update the game, but after clearing the game cache it seemed to sort that out. Next Rich_Bank was having internet issues, so right as we were about to begin he logged out. Then it was smooth sailing for first three cargo runs, mostly. I spawned in the bed of my ship about 12,000 meters from Woodruff, loaded up with Astatine and headed to Lorville making a nice 100k right at the get go. After selling, the cargo seemed to persist in the ship visually, so after storing an

Mantis Attack!

3.7.1 Live it's time to hit the cargo routes hard! This patch brings a whole new advantage as this is one of the first patches were progress wasn't wiped. I started out right were I left of yesterday with a full 1.38 million credits! The downside is that prices also remain unaffected so we're not going to see a change in prices, which results in prices going up for commodities, lower profit margins at the terminal and less profit for all of us. It's great to see the game play of the economy working out though and we'll have to consider the options. Mantis players are also getting bolder, and today I ran into my frist Player-Pirate interdiction, Scarlet_Briar. (he appears to be a part of an organization called the AetherBlades) Here is a link to the full video:  https://youtu.be/zasUzf17j7M After leaving Nathan on Ita my ship was prevented from entering quantum, he messaged me over the comms. And initially I complied with his request to go to full stop, desp

3.7.1 CARGO MISSION

Timbur The Naval Armada Corps Friends, Traders, and Mercenaries, with the new patch 3.7.1 on the horizon, it's time to prepare for the upcoming cargo mission. Our mission is to push credit generation to its limits through hauling as a coordinated effort. Our vision is to have dozens of traders hauling in the Crusader system working in unison. As traders increase, pirates will also increase and so will the need for vital escort services. Our plan is to support all of these activities through credit and activity generation. For those familiar we’ll be using a framework called Scrum, I’ll provide a short recap of Scrum at the end of this document. During the next two weeks (after the 3.7.1 patch is released), our plan is to accomplish the following goals: Get to 1 million aUEC on Day 1 of patch, enough to Haul Laranite Buy everyone a Caterpillar (or Freelancer Max) Pay Out Bounties for confirmed Kills on other Caterpillars w/ Laranite Pay crew daily to everyone involved in d

Timbur’s Log 18 October 2949

Image
Timbur’s Log 18 October 2949 The morning cargo haul continues! Today I'll review our progress on how we were are able to secure the Laranite supply in Stanton, and discuss our plan for the future to expand our operations.  We had a great turnout for crew today, proving that many hands make light work. We were able to secure the three major Laranite outposts in the verse with three ships, one on Cellin, Area 18 and Hurston. I can't wait to see what we can do with a bigger group, but it takes the right person to want to haul cargo as a team.  Hauling cargo is the best in a multi crew experience, so I wanted to mention newcomers Heraldus and Dizrac who teamed up with us today. Heraldus helped ferry some folks across the verse and Dizrac teamed up with Selwyn to haul some cargo out of Cellin. Selwyn was able to nearly deplete the supply there at Tram & Myers in an Andromeda, which goes to show how the commodities change as the patch goes on. Rich and SQ hit the Lara

3.7 The Crew is Infected!

Image
Timbur's Log, 17 October 2949 The crew is infected by parasites! It appears to latch onto the crews helmets and jiggle playfully, taunting would be victim with it's grotesque from. I'm not sure how long we can survive! Star Citizen's subscriber flair of the month is a new helmet from an in-lore film called Parasite, I should have read the article before writing this review, but it looks fantastic and I love seeing in game "authentic" props to support an in game horror film, even if it is disgusting looking. Trading today was otherwise uneventful, meaning we made bank. I crewed up with Selwyn_Lindquist and together we did a few runs between Hurston and Arial hauling laranite. After giving me a small loan of 350k credits we were able to double our profit per run, and I'm now holding over 1 million credits on my account, earning just over 100k a trip. Prices appear to have gone up on the cost of Laranite, and supply is low, as I'm guess more and more p

3.7 Opportunity Awaits

Image
Timbur's Log, 16 October 2949 3.7 holds a great opportunity for earning ships in game for our crew. Yesterday we purchased a brand new freelancer Max for our good friend SQ. Rich Banks has been hitting the cargo runs hard and he's really making some great progress. We're not done yet, and we thinking that 3.7 will be a longer than normal patch, lasting hopefully up to the new year, which gives us traders a great opportunity to really test the generation of aUEC and really see if we can grow our commerce department. If you're in the mood for some cargo hauling and you'd like to earn a ship in game feel free to team up with us and run some cargo. I'm also looking to team up with more players to mine in the various caves to help new players get into some interesting game play on day one. If you're interested feel free team up with me in game. I'll see you in the verse!

3.7 Cargo Madness

Image
3.7 Cargo Madness! I thought I would have been sick of cargo by now but let me tell you I just hopped into the latest patch of Star Citizen, 3.7, and cargo hauling is still good. Nothing beats hoping in with a crew of guys and just getting down to business. The subscriber ship of the month is the Constellation Andromeda so with 96 SCU you can really get your feet wet cargo hauling. Although if you really want to excel you’ll need to cat, so that’s why we’re rolling out our plan to get a cat to every cargo hauler who wants one. The way it works is that you just fly as a crew member with us for x amount of hours, until you’ve accumulated enough credits to fly your own Drake Caterpillar. Players are paid out based on how many credits we earn as a team, so the more we make, the more we all make. Simple. Enough about business let’s talk about the gang. We’ve got a solid turnout over the weekend. Today we had El Dio, Timelord, Ecca, Rich Banks, SQ, Selwyn, and Rob. And we picked up a n
