Throwback Thursday; Daily Reports 2949
Timbur's Report, 1/29/19. Successfully did a cargo run in the Starfarer from Jumptown to Levski. A client crash caused the ship to get stuck in atmo near orbit. After several attempts we were able to recover both the titan and Starfarer. My daily ending balance is 2,065,700.
This is a good reminder to always have a friend on the ship.

TheBookshelvian's daily report (29/01/19): I had quite a few successful JT runs in my Freelancer MAX, then decided I was going to fill up all my ships (Freelancer MAX, MIS, DUR, Cutlass Black and Starfarer) with Widow and then sell it all at once. My ending daily balance is 2,008,231 aUEC

Timbur's Report, 1/30/19. I teamed up with Rich Banks and Reborn, as this guy decided it was a good idea to fly the Starfarer Gemini to JT full of med supplies, without securing the area first. Yeah that was a bad idea, but I make the tough mistakes so you don't have to. We flew right into the fire fight, we took out four to five fighters thanks to the handy work of my turret gunners, Reborn and Rich, then, this Scythe came and blew us up in 3 shots. I tried to offer him payment for my bounty of 100k but he didn't want it. All in all, I lost about 400k aUEC.
Who: Timbur, Reborn, Rich
What: Starfarer Gemini shot down by Scythe at JT
When: 8:00 AM EST 1/30/19
Where: Jumptown
Why/How: After taking down multiple ships at JT a Vandul Scythe attacked, came in from behind and even with two gunners shooting him, he shot down the ship in about 10 seconds.

Timbur's Report, Thu 31. I ran a few speed runs to Jump town to test and record the time it takes to perform the runs in the Freelancer Max. I made about 184,294 in 1 hour and 13 minutes, so that puts me at 2520 aUEC per minute per person.

Moonreport, after frivilously purchasing 3 dragonflies (one of each color, and one more on accident) and a Cyclone, and burning through around 200k in weapons across a few days of JT defense, I spent tonight running Meds and Agricium from Olisar to ArcCorp 141 and am back up to 468k. I've been averaging 100-120k per hour doing that trade loop in my MAX, and am going to stick to using 'free' weapons until I've saved enough to buy a Prospector, or until they reset our progress. 8-10 hours of trading and I can play the mining game again.

[TNAC-C1] Timbur02/01/2019
Timbur's Report 2/1/2019. Today we tired a new thing as we still had the subscriber ships we wanted to make the most out of them. Domick has been working on earning credits organically doing cargo runs on his own so today we turned the tables and decided to run cargo runs for him. Being a subscriber he had access to the Max, Dur, Mis, he also had a titan as his starter package. So by teaming up with a few players from the org and invite a few other players on the server who wanted to cooperate we were able to fly all his ships. We then transferred him enough credits to fill up all the ships with the commodity of choice. We then went to the outpost and filled up with cargo, then brought it back and sold it. He made about 24,000 profit just from that one trip. This is a big deal for him as he started with a little over 30,000. We may want to do more cooperative missions like this in the future.
Widow, Agricium, and Medical Supplies were bugged for the server we were on so we weren't able to do large cargo runs there but Titanium seemed to work.

Moonreport 2/1/2019, I did some runs from Olisar to ArcCorp 141 with no trouble and am up to 628k. Nearly lost my ship to a dying server, but after 5 minutes of trying all the tricks, I was able to QT back to Olisar and land safely.

Alas, the subscriber month has ended and with it, access to the Freelancer variants. Back to trading with my tiny avenger. This month's test ship is the Anvil Hawk.
Today I made a nice little (emphasis on the little) profit trading med supplies to AC141 and agricium back to PO. No server bugs, console behaved itself and I met no resistance between endpoints.

Timbur's Log, Fri 2, February. Jumptown was under the control of one vandul scythe, although we got some quick response from a few of the cargo boys we just couldn't keep Jumptown under constant control. Although we got a few runs in, we had to fall back and trade at a different route. We re grouped on a few new servers to find a stable one as the first seemed to have a few glitches, On one server we managed to trade a few runs of agricium making a nice profit, but it was short lived and we ended up having to switch again. We were not able to buy/sell on the next server, although we checked 3 locations. Most of our progess was blocked by attempting to get on one server together and one server that was stable. I sold my WiDow off today as well. I made 358,000 hauling agricium and 674,000 when I sold off the wiDow. I didn't loose any cargo today buy it's cruical to report that we lost several ships heading to Jumptown, but none of them had any cargo.

Timbur's Log, Sun 3, February. We found a low populated server and made the most out of it while hauling to Jumptown. I found it more fun to buy and then park your ships at Levski, then request another ship, leaving all the full ships at levski. I then spent 3 hours and 40 minutes selling Widow later in the day. It was no fun to sell the widow at the console though, and I'm thinking our time would be better spent at Arccorp 141. Even if it's not that much per hour, we won't have to deal with several hours staring at the sell console. I made over 900,000 in widow today my ending balance is: 3192493

No trouble all day. My ending balance is 1818269. P.S. I am thinking about upgrading my cutlass black to a freelancer MAX

Timbur's Log, 2-5-19, Lost a load of Widow in the Starfarer costining me 304,128, but then I made back 337,369 running agricium. We've got the time down to 12 minutes from Olisar to ArcCorp so this looks like it is the new most profitable run. Next, I want to get 5 to 6 Caterpillars running this at the same time with a total of 12 players, ideally 1 Freelancer Max will accompany each Caterpillar.

Moonreport 2/5/19 - Casually did some of the standard Olisar>ArcCorp141 loop, nearly replenished the 220k that I spent on an Aurora LX a few days ago and am back up to 531k. Working towards an even 2 million credits now to buy a Prospector and still have enough buffer to continue trading beyond that if needed.

Timbur's Log, 2/5/19 21:44. I tested some Port Olisar to 141 with full medical supplies and made 122,250 per trip. Overall I made 257,548 in about an hour. (2 25 minute trips.)

[TNAC-C1] Timbur02/06/2019
Timbur's Log, 2-6-19. Off to a great start today, running the Agricium at 409,000 profit in about an hour. The trick seems to be running a caterpillar and a freelancer, maxing out both ships with cargo there and back. It's about 20 minutes per trip. It'll be difficult to stay on that 20 minute target but it appears to be possible. The downside is Agricium is an extremely high risk run, if you thought WiDow was tough, this is worse. A fully laden caterpillar is worth about 1.5 million credits, and with frequent server crashes it's likely that we'll loose a few cats. If we want to do this run, we'll have to double up our crews as one client crash will ruin it. To make it worse, cat's need to travel two and from the location with full loads, so that really doubles the risk of a crash. It'll be tough but if we can get enough Caterpillar, Starfarer, and Max owners running this it will pay off. You'll want to grab a friend to do this run with you.

Sajiin's Log 2-6-19. What a shit day...between server failures, getting attacked at JT and my game freezing in the middle of the dogfight. Probably lost upwards of 400K today. I think I may just leave the ship parked for now...

Timbur's Log, 2/7/19. No trades today but I managed to team up with Domick and help recruit a new member to the org Void. Doing a patrol in the hammerhead and Warden, I meet Arbiter (discord name) who was interested in teaming up with our organization to do some joint operations. This just goes to show that there is plenty of opportunity to be had just talking to people in the verse and having a good time.

Moonreport 2/7/19 - Similar to yesterday, ran cargo from Olisar>ArcCorp141. Did a few runs solo earlier in the day, and a few more runs later in the day with Timber and some others. Another profitable day, I'm now at 1,007,000 aUEC. No more snow days for the forseeable future, so free time to run cargo will likely slow a bit for a while.

[TNAC-O] TiberiusMoonraker02/09/2019
Moonreport 2/8/19 - I found some time this evening to run some cargo, and bumped my total to 1,214,000 aUEC. I can't wait to see what we'll be able to make once Cargo Depots and the Hull C come online later this year.

[TNAC-O] TiberiusMoonraker02/10/2019
Moonreport 2/9/19 - Managed a lucky run at JT while the crew was online and had it locked down, and then ran some Agricium after the server crashed. Luckily I didn't lose any UEC to the crash, so I'm now at 1,507,000. Another day or two at this rate and we'll have another Prospector in the fleet!

Timbur's Log, 2/10/19. Went to JT in the Gemini, loaded it up but someone had snuck aboard the ship, even with 1 escort in the area, Rich in the Turret, and Puff on the ground. Apparently the door was open, even though it was shown as closed. He got in the cockpit and shot me while flying. Even though we had three players on the ship, including myself, we couldn't get to the bridge in time to prevent him from self destructing the ship. We'll have to remember to have escorts scan ships when they leave an area.

Sajiin's Log 2/12/19. I bought a full load 66 SCU of med supplies, tried selling at Acrcrop and Kudre Ore on Daymar but can't get anything to sell. This is after initially leaving Ghex the first time after claiming my Freelancer and getting immediately obliterated soon as I left Ghex. Got away the second time, repaired and refueled and loaded at Oli but can't seem to sell anywhere. Makes for no fun.

Timbur's log, 2/13/2019. Patrolled Jump town today with Rich Banks. This was a great change of pace, I got the arrow out and just flew around the area. I'm thinking this will have to be my first priority as patroling and monitoring the area is neccessary before we can bring in the traders. Now, if I could just get a few more cargo haulers online at the same time we could really make a profit. My goal is over the next week or so, (maybe until the next patch hits) is to patrol JT every morning at this time. I've found it fun to just shoot down any contacts with a crime stat as to keep those players coming in on their toes. This is also a good way to screen the lawful players from the unlawful players. I've figured out that with the arrow you can fly for hours without running out of fuel by flying decoupled. The plan is to run this op if no one is online, like today, but if we can get a few more guys online, I wouldn't mine doing competing cargo runs to see who can make the most profit in an hour.

Timbur's Log 20 Feb 2019. Made 230,000 teaming up with Rich Banks and recruiting a new player from local chat, IsinDule. I'm starting to think that it's crucial for operations that I recruit players every time I get online to fill out the 4AM Cargo and escort team. I know it's a random time to be online but it seems to be ideal for cargo hauling. In about 1 hour I made, 234,616, that was with two cargo runs to ArcCorp 141, selling medical supplies and buying Agricium, then returning to Port Olisar. I paid IsinDule, 5,000 credits a trip so 10,000 altogether. He seemed to think that was the fair wage, and that's about 5% of earnings.

Timbur's Log 21 Feb 2019. Teamed up with Rich Banks for a cargo run. It went down without a hitch. In local chat I was able to team up with a player in local chat. Together we earned a little over 355,000. 100,000 of that I gave to the new guy for helping me out by flying the ship. Looking back at it I'm not sure if 100,000 is the right wage. That's really the max I could give per cargo load and it doesn't really go into cover the risk of transporting the 1.4 million in cargo. Maybe I'll try 50,000 tomorrow. One point I want to bring up is the idea of a continuous cargo run, or a 24/7 cargo operation that uses watch officers to keep the ball rolling. I'll post more details later.

Timbur’s Log. Fri 22 Feb 2019. Teamed up with dew and a friend who needed to earn a few credits. We did two runs in about an hour with bad connection issues (my internet was down) and made 240,000 credits. They both agreed to a 50k wage each. I had Dew fly the Cat and Tony fly the Constellation. We ran into two players attempting to board the caterpillar and a few other players trading in the area and doing missions.

Timbur's Log, Sun 24, 2019. Operation Killswitch was a huge success. The Cargo and Industry Department played a huge role in getting our troops equipped with the weapons and armor we needed to run a great operation. Several players came to the event unprepared but with the Help of Bookshelf and Mavrick we were able to get the credits dispersed to everyone who needed it at the start of the event. I think the idea of getting players equipped like this seems to be a good thing to do right before the event starts because there will always be a large amount of time it takes to coordinate everyone. Into the same party and instance. Giving players something to do during that preparation time will be important.

Timbur’s Log, Mon 25, 2019. I did a few late night runs will Apollo. After flying the hammerhead they wanted to run some cargo. So we did. We made about 400,000 credits in 45 minutes. That was with 1 caterpillar and myself and Apollo. The time to beat is 15 minute cycle times.
With 56,600 units in the Caterpillar, it’s 2.17 profit per unit, so that’s 122,822 profit per 15 minutes. So that’s 8,188 profit per minute, and 4094 profit per minute per person. Not bad.

Thu 28, Timbur's Log.
Today was the first day of an epic journey. With plenty of money in the bank and after patrolling Jumptown for who knows how long it time for me to focus on the most interesting part of game play in Star Citizen Exploration. Despite my fondness of this adventure I had to be invited by one of my good friends in order to get started. But we did it, we flew out to Hurston with the idea to map it all. Rich came to me with this crazy idea to map out certain locations on the planet with he strict criteria to be able to find that same location again. Jumptown has taught as a valuable lesson in exploration that players can use specific landmarks on a planet or moon to fly around. But can we expand this to other planets and moons? Is exploration and cartography a worthwhile endevour? We'll find out.
Today I flew in to Hurston, and picked HDMS Edmond, it's close to a very large ocean so we had though that we would fly around the ocean and we what fun points we could find. We fly in the 600i with a Cyclone RN, and of course Rich dies in the cargo before we can even land the ship. Then I plot a cross around the lake heading what I believe to be a inlet to the ocean and then head what I believe to be south. I head that direction for what could be about thirty minutes to an hour where I find a crater lake surrounded by a twin peaked mountain. I land unload the rover and drive up. I then roll the cyclone, walk up the rest of the way and get some very fantastic screenshots of the Hurston sunset on top of this little mountain. Off in the distance I can see my now little ship parked neatly on the ground. It's over 3000 meters away. Then I head back to the head, leaving the mountain in the distance. I get on the ship, and then suffocate because I can't put my helmet back on.

Fri 19 April 2019. Timbur's Log.
Went to Subin Mining SAL-2 on Lyria to buy Agricium, it's limited to 5000 every 2 minutes, so it is quite the wait to load up the Caterpillar. I ended up buying all the Agricium at the outpost, and then buying all the Titanium at the outpost. Titanium is also limited but it looks like it had over 200,000.
I'm going to have to find more routes that don't have limits. I teamed up with DomickReul and Rich_Banks. We also tried to run some Twitch missions but they bugged out.
We did run into trouble and Subin Mining. While I was at the console painstakingly buying the commodities, A lonely hornet also showed up at our location at the same time apparently running a delivery mission. We were initially suspicious of the contact because of yesterday's incident on Celin, but he seemed to be harmless enough, coming and then leaving. After buying all the commodities the outpost had, I boarded the ship with Rich and Domick decided it would be better to escort us out in the Cutlass. As we went to leave Domick heard some shots being fired, a Gatling gun spooling up. The Hornet had came back and was attempting to take down the Caterpillar. Shields were holding but some hull damage was registering. Domick moved his Cutlass into position and fired his repeaters. Rich spun the turret around, the Size 4 laser cannons made short work of the Hornet. In two bursts a small pop was heard in the background as the quantum drive spooled up. It's great to have a good crew.

Love it!
Traders Log - Ship- MAX; because I start with 30k most of the runs don't make more than 7.9k so I accepted two Covalex delivery missions (one pickup at Deakins and the other at CRU- L5) on the Crusader side to bring to the ArcCorp side. While on Yela (Deakins) I picked up 30k worth of stims 96SCU@3.11 because I know how much space truckers love their stims. After purchase my ship was empty and I was broke. But wait there's more, after arriving at the truck stop I noticed that my 2 SCU Argo was full as well as the prospector and my regular Freelancer. Whoa, trippy. After successfully selling all the stims3.46 I successfully retrieved my second crate and proceeded to Wala to deliver. I was disconnected with a 10k error and did not connect in time to rejoin my session.
Made about 3k

Timbur's Log 4-22. Tested Neon and Agricum. Neon is likely going to be the best profit this patch with a contribution margin of 12.77 per unit. Agricium has a buy limit of 18,000 units and the respawn time seems to be over 5 minutes. I'm thinking up an idea to loan out Cutlass blacks again and maybe even running delivery missions as a team. I'd also like to test the twitch missions so please hop on early this morning to help me out.

Timbur's Log 4-23. I'm writing a note to my self to avoid buying and selling WiDow. I tried a route this morning to see how it would go, Olisar Med supplies to JT to Kudre Ore. In principle it sounded good so I opted to test it out and time it. 3 Hours later I was still trying to sell it and the server crashed causing me to lose 250,000 worth of credits. Yes, I should be raging or angry, but I couldn't be happier. I had a fantastic time trading this time and with a bunch of good trading routes I'm happy to be able to check one off the list that I don't have to do again. It looks like WiDow is only going to work if you 1. have loads of credits 2. have a ship that can land at Grim Hex. Jumptown seems to be deserted with the new drug labs so it's nice to have that option available. Keep in mind grim hex will buy Widow in Quantities of 600 every two minutes. So pick the right ship for the job.
I teamed up with Danso8 and and new player, Space-Popsicles we were camped out at Kudre ore selling he widow 200 units every 2 minutes, Very slow, I don't recommend it. We told the new guy, to shoot anyone who enters the door unannounced and after sitting there for what felt like an eternity. Suddenly the door opened and the new guy took him out. Then we decided to get danso's cutlass in the air to scan for contacts, fifteen minutes later a ship appears on the scanners, it's a cutlass black coming in for the kill. Dan and his friend engage the target. I run to the caterpillar to try and provide some ground support with the caterpillar turrets. I get to the cockpit to cycle power to the weapons and dump full power to shields. I hear a large explosion, Danso was taken out, then I see a flash of blue as the cutlass focuses fire on the down caterpillar, I run to the front turret and power it up. The Cutlass pilot didn't notice, and after 5 well trained shots the pirate explodes. We did, we successfully defended the caterpillar 850,000 worth of Widow!

Timbur's Log 4-24. Lost 727,758 credits today with a glitch, my avatar fell through the moon and the ship then stored at the outpost. I'm not that mad about it, but I think I need to change up my tactics.
The focus has always been building profit from teamwork. I strongly believe that we focus first on the people on our team, figuring out the who first before finding the what. So if you're reading this give me a holler and we can work something out.

[TNAC-C1] Timbur04/25/2019
Timbur's Log 4-25-19. Teamed up with Rich_Banks, DomickReul and Danso8, We tried to run the Twitch mission but it took us nearly an hour to get it started when we got there we loaded the elevator full and then we had to go. We learned that the mission has 357 boxes of drugs at the lab from retrieving the destroy the drugs counter mission. If each box on average is worth 85.43 (the worth of neon) and each box hold 6 units of Neon then the estimated total of the clearing out the lab would be 182,991!
Further we can now get an estimate on the profit per minute, in 15 minutes we were able to load up 66 boxes with 5 players. That means we can load about 4 boxes a minute. Add transit time and grouping up and we could expect the complete the mission in around 2 hours and 30 minutes. That comes out to about 1207 profit per minute. Not bad and considering the game-play is fun with no risk of capital this looks like a great way for the cargo department to practice multi crew game-play and haul cargo, and turn a little profit.

Mason's Log 4-28-19. -MAX- A very successful day of trading for me. The game was very stable and everything worked well. After two successful 7.9k Covalex delivery missions a little neon trading in between and the completion of the Recco mission in Levski. I have to say I am back on the horse. Lost 85,100 credits, 5000 units of medical supplies when a player stole the Starfarer Gemini at Port Olisar and rammed it into a 600i causing the Starfarer to explode. I was on the ship behind the pilot seat but was unable to regain control of the ship due to the armistice zone.
Lost 85,100 credits do to a glitch when walking up stairs to a moon outpost. The ship was stored so I was able to sell the commodities at the outpost.

Timbur's Log, 5/2/19 Staring off the day to an excellent start, we were able to make over 325,075 credits this morning. The "new" route I've been running? Tram & Myers to Port Olisar, Laranite. I'll tell you I'm surprised myself as a few patches ago this was the route for Titanium, so I know it well. I was surprised to see the times one this run can't be beat in the new flight model. The secret is the Atmosphere on Cellin is thinner, resulting in the large ships being able to fly in and out faster. It takes a little more of a skill check to slow down but once mastered this route can be flown in under 20 minutes, closer to 13 or 14 depending on how much time you spend buying and selling goods there. So if you want to check it out, let me know how it goes for you.
I teamed up with Selwyn_Lindquist (Domick_Reul) again and it was a blast!! He's a great pilot and was able to do the Cellin run extremely well, his control surfaces are the mouse and keyboard. Great flying Selwyn_Lindquist!
Notes: The limit for Laranite at Tram and Myers is 150 SCU or 15,000 units per 2:20 intervals. Medical Supplies sell in quantities of 5000 at the same interval.
ArcCorp Mining Area 141, you can buy 180 SCU or 18,000 units per the same interval. Medical Supplies are also the same, 5000 per 2 minutes.

I tested out as many routes as I could get in today (despite a few hours of glitches). We found a pretty good route for starting out on trading. It's simply Hahn to Hicks, trading flourine. With 150,000 credits you can turn around 19,000 profit in the 8 minute trip. You should also be able to take stims or medical supplies back, but we just need to work out the demand timers for each of those commodities.
I also tried a few other runs, we visited Daymar, Neun Waste, and check the drug amounts there. Widow actually had a pretty high supply at around 1800 units, where E'tam and altruciatoxin where out of stock. I also picked up some Neon first, a few hundred units. We went to Grim Hex to sell but as expected the limited demand there prevented it from being sold. The way the commodities are working now you can sell one batch, but then only 1 unit at a time until that demand slowly builds up to the max demand. It seems like it will take over an hour for demand to build up but this would be time consuming to test. (and it doesn't look like it would be worth it in the end). The best bet for drugs would be to sell in small amounts at multiple locations. I'm thinking this will be less profitable than sticking to the legal commodities.
I also tested and confirmed that the caterpillar doors do actually lock now, which is great news!
Testing the commodity demand timers, it looks like 1 Unit of widow is demanded every 30 seconds (however it seems to be very inconsistent.) If that is true it would take 100 minutes to replenish a R&R's station total demand of 200 unites. That's pretty bad.
Logging out in the bed seems to work, which is great! I'll have to test this every time I log out now.

Today I had to cancel the daily cargo run because the party system was glitched. The good news with a bit of down time I've been able to sell off most of the WiDow at 10 units at a time. Only 600 units to go or about 10 hours.
I'm never going to do WiDow again.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
[TNAC-C1] Timbur06/14/2019
The day went smoothly, after a 24 hour delay on selling on selling Widow at HUR-L3. After living out of the R&R station over the past two days I've decided that I'm okay if I never go back. All in all, the rest stop actually has a great selection of the Adiva jackets, which will look great for the upcoming 890 Jump crew standard uniform. Our poll is also indicating that Orange is the color of choice for Trade and Industry.
Today selling of the last bit of Widow allowed me to look at the load-out on the caterpillar. I was able to pull off the components from the hammerhead and put them onto the Caterpillar. She now runs two military grade coolers the mercury models, and that military grade power plant. I also am testing out the Rhino Laser Repeaters, and the gunners seem to find them a little more enjoyable as they haven't stopped firing. I fell sorry for the pirate that happens upon our convoy (not really).
What else happened today? We ran 3 runs of Flourine, Hahn to Hicks and made about 20k a trip. Not bad for a starting capital of 150,000. Flourine has about a 19.6% profit margin. Perfect for caterpillars starting out. In fact I like this trip so much I'm recommending it for every caterpillar pilot, I'll have to write up a mission on it and I'm even will to give each caterpillar 150k to run this once we're able to earn enough on the first cat. So if you're on the fence about haulling cargo send me a pm and I'll transfer some credits to you.
Oh, I also have to report some work related injuries, we had two fatalities today so we're rolling back the days since last work related injury. Rich_Banks fell out of the ship to his death while the elevator was opened mid descent to Hicks, yours truly had the brilliant idea to use the elevator to look out to see the landing approach. Make sure no on the elevator before opening. Also note, that the button on the elevator is the only one that will lower the lift, as the one on the side will work only one time. So the procedure looks like this: I walk on the elevator press the button, Rich think's we've arrived so he jumps on as I'm jumping off and yelling at him to get off because we're still at 20,000 km above ground.
For the second incident I have only myself to blame as I was inspecting the command module bathroom, looking for the toilet when I fell through the toilet and out into space while in Quantum travel. The moral of the story don't share a bathroom with crew mates, as they may not only crowd your style but you might just be flushed into the void.

Timbur's Log, 6/15/19.
Another great day for Trading! I just was able to play the game for over 6 hours in on sessions with no crashes and only a few minor glitches. Again we were just doing runs from Hahn on Magda to Hicks on Celin. A super simple route. We figured out that quantum fuel is limited on the cat to about 2.5 trips so if we go to Tram & Meyers after Hicks reasearch we can sell about 100 medical supplies there, buy some Diamond, and then refuel at Port Olisar. Hahn will accept somewhere over 4000 medical supplies, so I still have to map out the limit there.
I'm liking adding fuel into the routes as it makes sense and I'm glad to see that it's making it into the game-play.
We had a huge group today, both Rich and I got both Caterpillars running with a full load. I'd love to get as many players running this run as it could be pretty profitable for starting out hauling with the caterpillar.
We also opened up an invitation to general chat to join our convoy and we had a good amount of interest.
Thanks to everyone who showed up! Drunk_Mavrick, Rich_Banks, Danso83, Mig20, Time_Lord_Victorious, Nachtduviel, We had some new users, Power5, and Markus Barak, also Cuteguy69 is brand new to Star Citizen, just joined the other day.

Detailed report on 6/15 incident.
Timbur: I left Port Olisar in the Starfarer Gemini by myself. I wanted to earn a little extra credits without risking the Caterpillar and to test how the Starfarer would Handel. Plotted a course to Hicks Research Outpost on Cellin. The thin atmosphere was proving difficult. The initial burn down from thirty thousand kilometers and switching from decoupled to coupled resulted in being in about 10 kilometers off from target, testing the J stop, (it may not be very effective in the largest of ships) because of the slow yaw and roll rotation of the ship by the time the ship was lined up to burn in reverse the ship was slightly off course. The ship being empty at this time warranted more aggressive testing. A second approach was laid in to Hicks’s, approaching at 300 m/s this was again overshot, and the final approach was made at under 100 m/s.
I landed at Hicks’s, then bought a little over 12,000 units of medical supplies. This depleted my entire credit reserve but was required to test if Levski could support the demand. I’m estimating that Levski has a demand of around 40,000 units. If Levski don’t support the demand I could also test the limit at Hahn.
I took the ship to 10 km to jump to delemar. Switch to coupled to burn down, and lose speed and spooled and jumped to Delemar. The speed indicator was not displayed so I’m unsure at how fast I was traveling but it was not a dead stop. The ship blew up before it exited quantum. The was no sight of any object or asteroid but I believe it was one of the asteroids close to Delemar that caused the incident.

Timbur's Log, Thu 20, 2019
Teamed up with Rich, Rocha, Digi and BlueRath and we had a great time flying the caterpillar. We started with just over 300,000 credits and by the end and after paying the crew we just shy of 400,000 credits for the cargo pool. More impressive than the credits is teaming up with great players. I figure the greatest constraint on earning credits is the number of players we have online for the daily cargo run. Figure, profit, per time, per crew. More crew = more profit because we'll be able to field more ships. Not to mention it's a ton of fun trying to do a simple thing like just flying A to B but getting it down to an exact and precise science, every time.
Today both Rocha and BlueRath learned to fly! I love teach other players how to fly and you can really tell the difference between a new pilot and an experience pilot. There's a bunch of little tricks of the trade we've learned along the way and we wouldn't have even thought about half of these things if we did do it. Tram & Meyers to Port Olisar is still a solid route you just gotta watch the change in prices. It looks like you can only sell 100 units of medical supplies a session. We'll have to confirm the refresh rate later but I'm guessing it's around 1 unit per minute. We sold 100, went back to Port O, came back, and could only sell 10.
We also flew out to Arial, HDMS Bezdek, were able to sell 5000 medical supplies and buy titanium. The route isn't too bad in the cat and you can alternate between Bezdek and Lathan so more medical supplies is better profit. It looks like a common thing to trading in 3.5.1 is using alternating routes so we can really test those trade route finders the community has made. See you in the verse!

Timbur's Log, Fri 21, 2019
Today went off without a hitch. Today I test out the new gallog operation and I have to admit it worked very well. It gave me a countdown timer for when to start and then helped me keep track of my own profit and gave me the ability to add crew to the roster. The only downside is that I need to add all my crew to the website, and then add them to the operation. Today we managed to earn 84,290 credits, and that's not including the 150,000 credits I gave to Drunk Mavrick to start his Caterpillar in the afternoons. Overall we earned 198,984 credits in this one session.
Joining me today was Selwyn Lindquist and RochaF. Selwyn is mastering piloting the caterpillar (with mouse and keyboard too) We've changed the way we land at Port Olisar, land close the the door and perpendicular to the standard, default auto-land. The idea is to get the runner as close to the door as possible, and since we haven't be using autoland anyways it's only saving us more time landing this way. With Selwyn at the helm we were able to get down some solid and consistent times in and that means we can go from Tram & Myers and back to Port Olisar in 10 minutes. The price of titanium slightly increases at the outpost over time, so the best we did was 22,363 in 10 minutes, That's around 2236 profit per minute. This could be some of the best in the verse, but now at least we have a metric to gauge other routes against.
RochaF manned the turret, and we learned a few interesting tidbits about this. If the ship lands to hard the bottom turret will actually break and can't be used. This happened twice this morning, the rear turret jammed up.
It was mostly a peaceful route all day, only running into two other players at Tram & Myers both in the new Orgin 300 series ships at different times. The only difficulty we had was jumping in toward the end to Port Olisar a few player pirates tried to jump us with a cutlass and a raven. I'm unsure if at this point the EMP on the raven damaged the turret or if it had been previously damaged. All I know is when I jumped in the turret and powered it on it was jammed, of course the one time you need it. Selwyn was able to pull a quick maneuver and land the ship somewhat safely. It remains that Port Olisar is one of the most dangerous trade station, and we're lucky we got away this time. On the books its second only to Tram and Myers, which goes to show you why it's the most profitable yet deadly routes.
Thanks to the best crew in the verse, they make the most dangerous route look like a cake walk. Thanks for everything you do, and that's why we invest in a good crew, they are the best insurance policy.

Timbur's Log, Fri 22, 2019
Sat 22
Drunk_Mavrick flew out to HDMS-Hahn on Magda to fill up with Florine, and suddenly, Drunk got glitched into the side of the ship. His crew mate BlueRath crashed out and was not able to go to the rescue. Respawning back at Area 18, Drunk called for a pickup. BlueRath came to the rescue in his aurora. 20 minutes later, he arrived at Riker Satation, and the two headed out for the 20 minute. Verifying that the Cat was still in the area they sped down to the planet when a crash to desktop caused the ship to crash into the moon.
The second trip back the Aurora doors slammed Mavrick in half as he went to exit the ship. Then Chovan and Blue tried to glitch their way in but to no avail, by this time the Caterpillar despawned.
Other than that the day was quick typical, Tram and Myers to Olisar appears to be the best route in the verse when looking for profit over time. 20k in 10 minutes is hard to beat. It can even be better if you can sell about 4000 units of laranite.
I teamed up with Rocha, as Pilot. He did great and I hope we can earn him a Caterpillar in game in the upcoming patch.
I also teamed up with Chovan, he aims to be a big time space trader hoping to never have to land on planets.
Drunk_Maverick teamed up with Blue, unfortunately due to some unfortunate game glitches and bugs he is pulling up a loss today. Better luck next time. I’m just sad I wasn’t able to hop on the server to rescue the ship.
I made: 194,465
Chovan made: 162,234
Drunk_Mavrick: -152,066
A few notes: Tram has a limited demand of 100 medical supplies per day. The refresh rate is slow.
Port Olisar will only buy around 4000 units or 40 SCU of laranite.
You can also sell Laranite at Grim Hex.
I tried Agricium plus gold, 141 to Kudre to Olisar, it was only worth 20k, so pretty bad.
If we want to do Agricium we’ll have to find a place that will sell it in large amounts and another place that has high demand.
Laranite is the other high end commodity but again we’ll have to find a spot with a high demand and supply.

Timbur's report, 6/24/19
Today was your typical Monday. Get online launch the caterpillar. A mustang tries to blow up the ship. The shields don't take any damage but the engines slow start to blow up. Go figure. Then both turret gunners are attempting to fire but the front turret is apparently broken. We weren't in really real danger but I was surprised that we couldn't take out a little mustang. We might have to do a bit more combat drilling to get our cargo boys up to snuff.
What other glitches did we encounter? Apparently ramming a mustang does no damage to the tiny mustang but destroys the caterpillar instantly. The Valkyrie is a pretty fun little gunship. In fact if the redeemer ever becomes fly able that could be a really fun ship for 3 to 4 players, gunship game play.
We then flew out to Loveridge to check the Agricium to have the server crash.
I'd like to test possible routes to buy and sell Agricium. I believe that Lyria might have a larger supply of agricium. Theoretically, a full load of Agricium could profit 79,806 a trip. But I'm unsure if Subin Mining would have that kind of supply.
With 3.5.1 winding down maybe we try a few different things for commerce?
See you in the verse.

Timbur's report, 6/25/19
I think we found a new most profitable route, and it involves selling Laranite at ArcCorp. The cheapest place to buy it is at HDMS-Bezdek on Arial, and it just so happens that Area 18 has the highest price. We tested a load today and was able to sell over 700,000 credits worth. Around 25,000 units. Of course, we'll have to test this with higher commodites limits but we'll need more credits to see what the demand at Area 18 is.
Profit per unit is 1.25 which is actually better than Agricium. Which Agricium, by the way is not worthless because there place in the verse that will sell a decent amount. We're talking 50 SCU max per location. So you'd actually make more hauling corundum vs. Agricium, which is pitiful. We did a hual today just to verify at it only turned around 7,000 profit with the agricium.
Next, we'll have to time this route, it's likely around a 30 minute trip, and find some other commodities to buy and sell along the way. As well as test the Demand at Area 18, in terms of how many times can we run this route before demand diminishes.

7/10/19 Timbur's Log
Despite the bugs in the early PTU testing we were able to have some small successes. We were able to grab a few personal delivery missions from Grim Hex to Brio's Breaker Yard on Daymar. And if our screenshots work out we should be able to find location again.
Bugs:
Death by Cutlass black back ramp x2
Death by stairs, Brio's Breaker Yard
Death by proximity to Brio's Breaker yard x3
Box not placeable in any ship, teleports 300 to 600 meters away after placing. x3
Player's location not syncing with other players x4
Quantum Travel Beacons not appearing.
Quantum Travel not launching when pressing B to engage.
Success:
Able to accept missions to Brio's Breaker Yard!
Able to find Brio's Breaker yard.
Scopes work!
Voip works!
Proved that teamwork conquers bugs.
Things to test:
Sell stolen goods at Brio's Breaker yard. What are the prices for every commodity?
Enter Brio's Breaker yard without dying.
Special thanks to: Rich Banks!

7/10/19 Timbur's Report
After doing some testing today with the Eclipse vs Caterpillar it looks the Cat is in serious danger! 2 Torps to a Cat will destroy it and torpedo's have an effective range of around 15 km. The Caterpillar, pilot and gunners will not be able to see that eclipse at that range, and will be dead before they have any chance to react.
In our initial test we noted that the Caterpillar can be seen from the eclipse at a range of 20 km. The Caterpillar will only be able to see the Eclipse at 10 km. (Scans were not used on this test, and this would require further testing, to see if that range could be increased.) The eclipse was able to get a positive missile lock at just around 18 km but due to some server bugs the torpedo's only hit the ground near Tram & Myers. After spooling up a new server we were able to test again.
In our Second attempt, help in orbit of Daymar, 1 torpedo was launched but it only lowered the shields of the Caterpillar (stock components) Then after waiting for the shield to replenish we fired two in quick succession and was able to destroy the caterpillar. The range was under 10k.
This will still require further testing, on the effective range of both the missiles and scanners, but is a good early confirmation that the caterpillar is vulnerable target for the eclipse.
We also tested to see if a destroyed ship would drop cargo and this came back negative. Blowing up the caterpillar at Tram & Myers with Titanium and Laranite not a unit was dropped. We'll have to test this with different ships, and different locations to see if that makes a difference.
Special thanks to Rich Banks for smashing the bugs today!

Chovan07/11/2019
for a while now torps will lock on up to 20km away but their maximum effective range is 15km on stationary targets. I tend to release the torps around 10-12km to account for moving targets and lag effects. but the torps run out of gas after 15km travel.
might be cargo ships arent dropping cargo in atmosphere but will in space? i can recall popping npc pirate cats after an interdiction and seeing a huge load of boxes scatter from the shattered holds. I also recall the times folks self-destructed a cat above an outpost and then seeing the cargo fall onto the outpost so maybe its still broken? i dont recall how high up from the outpost they might have been.
Also, would be interesting to see if the gladiators size 6 (5?) torps could take out a caterpilar. Maybe a combination of torps then follow up with missiles when closer? 2-3 size nine torps from an eclipse is a lot of damage, but the gladiator has a lot more missiles and double the torps even if they are only size 6. i think it will be just enough to take out a cat with an alpha strike.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
[TNAC-C1] Timbur07/11/2019
The 20km missile lock range and 15 km effective range seems consistent with our test today, but I'd still like to verify it in the current patch, or most recent patch of 3.6. We may have to wait until it is pushed to live. The gladiator is a good question too, as well as thinking about what other ships will be able to take down a cat quickly.
Cargo drops also require further testing.
-Is it only NPC ships that drop cargo? or will player ships drop cargo?
-Is it location specific? In Space vs atmosphere vs landed?
-Does a player need to be in close proximity to the ship in order for the wreck to persist?

7/11/19 Timbur's Log:
Trading looks great this patch, we tested 141, to Kudre to Olisar. I think we made about 18,000 credits on Agricium alone and that was only at a quantity of 2800 units. We'll likely avoid this run because of the limited and small supply. Thanks to Rich and Selwyn for teaming up today!

Chovan07/18/2019
if a 'safe' cargo run nets you x credits in profit running a caterpillar at max capacity then how much more profitable does a riskier cargo run need to be if you could lose the cargo and have to claim the caterpillar once every 10 transits?
nx = [x(n-1) + y(n-1) - I] where n is number of transits, x is profit on safe run and y is extra profit for risky runs. The term I is the investment needed to purchase the cargo lost, assuming a total loss.
so depending on how much is sunk into buying the cargo then the risky cargo has to be a minimum of 11% more profitable than the safe cargo and more likely the risky cargo has to be several times more profitable if the trend of cargo cost being higher than profit continues.
does this look right?

[TNAC-C1] Timbur07/20/2019
Despite early losses of 135,000 credits we made a strong combat and are now over half a million credits. A freak accident involving a Caterpillar full of Flourine exploded after attempting to land at Deakins Reaserach outpost. Experts say the cause of the accident may have been related to the new hover mode. As the ship came in for a landing, fully laded with flourine, the ship drifted in reverse out of control, then clipping a nearby rock or ground the ship flipped on its lid, and even the quick reactions of an experianced pilot weren't quick enough today when the ship shot forward and then exploded on the ground. All we can say is it didn't make a dent! https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/515600013922140173/602125395785023496/Squadron_42_-_Star_Citizen_2019.07.20_-_09.06.53.02_Trim.mp4
We lived up to our slogan today because after trying a few other routes, we were quickly able to not only reclaim those losses but surpasses them. These gains were not without bugs.
Rich Banks ran into a bug where he is unable to see any service beacons, so if you know of a fix send it his way. He's currently in the process of a fresh instal, so we'll see what that brings.
Then not wanting to end on an upset I tried a few runs to Tram & Myers and discovered that at the moment Diamond is in huge demand at Port Olisar. In just five runs, we went from 200,000 credits to over 500,000. According to this 336,000 credits will earn 81,000 credits every trip, Tram & Myers to Port Olisar, just hauling Diamond. Laranite and Titanium are other options but Diamond seems to be the hot item today.
Fly safe in the verse!
special thanks go to Selwyn, El_Dio, Time_lord and Hydr.

Timbur's Log, Mon 22
After earning 1.25 million over the weekend the crew was devastated with a server crash that cost us our fortune. Just 10 km out from landing at Area 18, the dreaded 30000 error clamed the caterpillar full of laranite. Starting up today with 20 aUEC to my name I started of with running some delivery missions. Fortunatly, Rich Banks was able to bail me out and provide a quick loan of 110,000 credits. Teaming up with Selwyn Lindquist we started running Diamond from Tram to Olisar and by the end of 2 hours we had ended with a balance of 478,802. To save us the trouble next time we transferred 200 k to Selwyn for safe keeping.

Timbur's Log Tue 23, Today I teamed up with Rich Banks, Selwyn Lindquist, El dio to do some cargo hauling. We started out with Tram and Myers on Cellin to Port Olisar, trading Diamond and Laranite until the demand at Port Olisar was completely depleted. Then moved to Wala and Area 18. Though the route makes more at Area 18 it also takes more time. If there is a large supply of Laranite at Wala it would be worth the time to run it but in this case the supply of Laranite was around 15,000 units at 045 and Wala was just over 2000 units. At that kind of supply it's not worth the time to run to Area 18. On the other side, Tram & Myers is profitable for only for a few runs until demand is satisfied at Port Olisar. We'll have to map out more routes that generate 10,000 profit per minute and work on our way to earn a caterpillar. If you're interested in flying a caterpillar please contact me as we're planning to buy a few more in game.

good thoughts on number of people needed to keep one cargo ship moving for a for 12 hours.
did dew and pwnership fly security for a whole 12 shoft or just a 3 hour shift, having shorter shifts might be the key for security if there is a low likelyhood of competitors or adversaries showing up. security fulflling multi-roles is another idea; while the traders are in quantum/safe space/port/no getting shot then security could be working on tweaking their ships, exploring, flip to a prospector and make some credits picking up ore, etc. Depends on how much time security has in between traders being on location or in port. Also depends on how actively we want to watch the outpost.
thats if we are doing 'zone' coverage instead of 'man' coverage. Zone would be flying patrols around an outpost regardless of where the traders are at. Man would be security sticking right beside the trader; and we would switch to man coverage if the port is not safe or if there is a good potential for interdiction during quantum. I suppose.

midday report: trading is working well, aside from area18 not acknowledging the max being parked

Just a kick update today, 3.7 is burning down so we tried to do some trade wars, by drilling pirate vs caterpillar on the popular trade route to tram and Myers then followed up by some bounty hunting. We did three rounds for the trade route route. Selwyn and I teamed up against SQ and and despite some great opposition from SQ we were able to deliver 2 loads of cargo under fire. Then Selwyn crashed into the moon, and I got shot down by SQ. Good game to everyone! Thanks for a great turnout!
