Timbur's Log November 5 2949
Work continues toward SQ's cutlass black that we are buying for him in game with aUEC credits. We're hoping to get it in the next few days and really put that ship to work.
A while back, last year to be precise, when ships were first able to be bought in game we had the audacious goal to buy a cutlass for Christmas. You might remember my post on spectrum. Most players thought that it was a waste of time for players to earn ships in game, and maybe it is. Over the past year we've bought several ships in game modifying and enhancing our cargo and teamwork skills. And now it seems like it's almost no big deal to earn a ship in game.
Despite our lack of enthusiasm over another ship, We've got to admit that it is still a big deal to be able to buy any ship in game with a little effort on our part. The best thing about it is that it takes multiple players to make the wheels of commerce spin. It takes a dedicated crew willing to put up with my my 4 AM calls to action. To work through the bugs, pirates, trolls, crashes, you name it, we've had it and we've overcome it. This is what it means to be a part of a team, a crew. We get the job done, and we do it together.

It feels like it's time to change gears, we've bought all the ships in game that we want to earn this patch so now it's time to plot a new course and see where quantum drive takes us. We'll finish up earning this cutlass in game for SQ and then we'll have to figure out what to do next. I don't know what the future entails but I know we'll do it as a crew.
Maybe we pack up in a Warden and see how many days we can live the life as bounty hunters aboard the Vanguard. Multiplayer bed logging out and in now works on ships.

I'd be glad if we don't have to take another lonely ride to the Central Business District on Lorville. We recently timed it and it takes four minutes to sprint from the hangar to the commodity consoles in the CBD. How many times did we do that in since the CBD is in game?

Here are some through back images for you. That's a Argo MPUV Cargo varient. I wouldn't mind flying that to Jump Town a few times just to do it for old times sake! The trick is you have to fly to an unmarked location on Yela, known as Jumptown. The MPUV doesn't have a quantum drive so waypoints don't pop up and there is no way to quickly jump around the planet or spline jump. Regardless Jumptown is an unmarked drug lab. In it's hayday you'd always find players at the hidden location, typically smuggling drugs from the outpost to Grim Hex. Like any self-respecting cargo hauler, we flew caterpillar loads of WiDow out of the place. We flew there everyday, and printed millions of credits. Lost millions more. To challenge ourselves or as a trail by fire, we would take the smallest ship, with barely enough hydrogen fuel to make it there and back, the Argo MPUV Cargo. We'd take it down to JT and fly back. If you made it back alive you made it into the commerce department. You kept the Argo there at Grim Hex, stored, as a trophy of your accomplishment. You can still make the route today, but few do.
